Geotechnical parameters

Define geotechnical parameters in greenPad and greenStrip for a single or multiple layers.

  1. Define you soil specifications under "Geotechnical Parameters"
  2. Choose "Unknown" to use assumed values.
  3. By choosing "Known: Uniform soil" you can define specific values.
    1. You can define either a constant or a varying ground water level.
    2. Enter the dry and submerged ground density.
    3. Choose the soil type.
    4. Either a sandy soil with an angle of friction, or a clay soil with a cohesion, or investigate both types of soil.
    5. You can also investigate the long-term conditions of the soil with the long-term angle of friction and cohesion.
  4. Lastly, by choosing "Known: Defined layers" you can define multiple layers.
    1. Each layer is given a name, all relevant parameters and a thickness.

The required geotechnical parameters depend on the chosen soil type.

While entering the data the parameters and soil profile will show to the right.

Here the layer arrangement is sand, clay, and silty clay.
